A plea for the perfect everyday wine.
It is the one bottle of wine that is always in the house, whether for surprise visitors or after a long workday.
Not a big name, famous wine, but a solid, great quality wine that is not too expensive.
2016 Cabernet Sauvignon
From the 98-point 2016 vintage, our new Smokescreen Napa Valley Cabernet is a big, fruit forward wine. It is purple in color with tons of dark fruits, cocoa and graphite that leads to a long finish with bold textures. It combines nuance and elegance while still showing a powerful side that you expect from a Napa Cab. This wine is ready to drink now but will age well.
2019 The Chemist
The 2019 Chemist is a blend of GSM, Petite Sirah and our newest member, Teroldego. The Chemist has a deep, inky purple color and aromas of berry cobbler, blackberry and tobacco. On the palate the Chemist is a big, bold, racy wine with tons of black fruits, tar, graphite and a long finish with ultra-fine tannins. Although powerful, it is nuanced and elegant as Chemist fans expect, and is going to evolve gracefully.
2018 Pinot Noir
The 2018 Russian River Pinot is a true expression of the Russian River Valley. This youthful Pinot is an explosion of bright fruit, dried strawberries, cherry, and red fruits along with notes of cola and anise. Fruity, without giving up its vital energy, this well-focused wine is full on the palate and has a rich texture. A suppleness provides it with an early accessibility. Its tannins jump out and end with a nice acidity.
2021 Sauvignon Blanc
Lambert Vineyard, Suisun Valley
On the nose you will find pears, exotic guava and river rocks. The wine has some influence from Bordeaux by fermenting in French barrels to give this release a great texture that makes it lively from the start. The mid-palate is incredibly creamy, and the wine finishes bone-dry with a long lingering finish. This is a big mouthful of Sauvignon Blanc. For all of you oyster lovers, this is for you.
A beautiful golden-hay color is the first thing you see in the glass. Enticing aromas of Asian pear, ripe apricot and a creamy richness lead to a racy palate that has an oily texture with crisp apple, toasted vanilla bean and subtle floral blossom flavors. The mouth feel is rich and round with its beautifully balanced finish. Our Chardonnay hits its stride after 6-8 months in the bottle and will age for 5-7 years.
